Little River At Horatio affecting McCurtain, Sevier and Little
River Counties.
For the Little River…including Idabel, Horatio…Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Little River at Horatio.
* WHEN…From Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS…At 27.0 feet, The golf course west of Horatio is cut off
from vehicle traffic by floodwaters. A few hundred acres of
lowland flood both upstream and downstream from the highway 41
bridge.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 18.0 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 27.5 feet tomorrow evening.
It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
– Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
27.8 feet on 10/26/1984.
