Flood Advisory issued May 30 at 11:15AM CDT until June 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Little Rock AR

…The Flood Advisory is extended for the following rivers in
Arkansas…

White River At Newport affecting Jackson and Independence
Counties.

For the Lower White River…including Newport, Augusta, Georgetown,
Des Arc, Clarendon…elevated river levels are forecast.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…White River at Newport.

* WHEN…Until Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS…At 26.0 feet, Many thousands of acres of cropland are
inundated. Water is near State Highway 14. Many private levees are
overtopped allowing the river to flood cropland. Water in portions
of Jacksonport State Park that are on river side of levee.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 25.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to crest near 25.8 feet
today before falling to a stage of 23.6 feet by Monday
morning.
– Action stage is 21.5 feet.
– Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

Air Quality Alert issued June 6 at 3:21PM EDT by NWS Caribou ME

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert for particle pollution until 11 PM EDT Saturday. Particle pollution levels are expected to rise into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range Friday into Saturday. Smoke from wildfires in Canada will linger in the northern region today into tomorrow. Outside of the northern areas, air quality is moderate for particle pollution. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects.
