Near or below freezing temperatures are expected to impact the
Southern Interior late tonight into early Saturday. Areas of frost
are expected by Saturday morning. It might be best to wait until
after the weekend to plant your garden or cover/protect sensitive
vegetation that was already planted, since winter isn’t quite over
yet.
The Fairbanks area will likely struggle to get to 32 or below if
the clouds hang on throughout the night. But if it clears,
temperatures near the ground may hit 32 briefly. After tonight,
there is no concern to be near freezing for the foreseeable
future.
