The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert for particle pollution until 11 PM EDT Saturday. Particle pollution levels are expected to rise into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range Friday into Saturday. Smoke from wildfires in Canada will linger in the northern region today into tomorrow. Outside of the northern areas, air quality is moderate for particle pollution.
