Areas of fog continue to develop overnight across much of northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio and adjacent areas of far southern Lower Michigan. The fog is likely to become locally dense toward daybreak with visibilities around or less than one quarter of a mile. If you are traveling overnight, be prepared for patches and areas of dense fog. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert for particle pollution until 11 PM EDT Saturday. Particle pollution levels are expected to rise into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range Friday into Saturday. Smoke from wildfires in Canada will linger in the northern region today into tomorrow. Outside of the northern areas, air quality is moderate for particle pollution. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects.
