The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is outlooking a Marginal Risk for Severe Weather (level 1 of 5)along and north of the I-10 corridor as ingredients are slightly more supportive for strong to severe thunderstormsthis afternoon.
The primary concerns will be locally damaging wind gusts (45-60 mph), frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall rates.
Nuisance flooding and ponding waterof urban and low-lying/poor drainage areas will be possible this afternoon, especially given recent soil saturation with the summertime pattern.
Warm temperatures and muggy conditions develop this afternoon, with triple digit heat index values (99 to 105-degrees).
Lingering moisture, calming winds, and warm overnight temperatures will promote areas of fog and low clouds to develop over North Florida and localized pockets of interior Florida.
A moderate tohigh risk of rip currentscontinues for Florida Panhandle beaches, with moderate riskconditions persisting along Space and Treasure Coasts.
There is no tropical development expected over the next 7 days in the Atlantic basin.
