The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Prince Edward County in central Virginia…
Nottoway County in south central Virginia…

* Until 145 AM EDT.

* At 1040 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen since 945 PM. The expected
rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Blackstone, Crewe, Hampden Sydney College, Hampden Sydney,
Nottoway, Burkeville, Green Bay, Rice, Darlington Heights, Burkes
Tavern, Twin Lakes State Park, Prince Edward Lake, Oliveville,
Prince Edward Station, Moran, Scholfield, Jennings Ordinary, The
Falls, Fergusonville and Briery Creek Lake.
