Flood Advisory issued June 9 at 11:16PM EDT until June 10 at 1:45AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina,
including the following counties, in north central North Carolina,
Surry. In northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Watauga and
Wilkes.

* WHEN…Until 145 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1113 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rain which
prompted the advisory has ended. However, minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area as
runoff from the earlier rain collects in streams and other
low lying areas.
– This includes the following streams and drainages…
Big Sandy Creek, Clear Branch, Beaver Creek, Basin Creek, Bee
Tree Branch, Big Pine Creek, Brush Creek, Cane Creek, Church
Branch, Cove Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek, Camp Branch and
Darnell Creek.
