At 1115 PM MDT/1215 AM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of
strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles east of
Stratton to 6 miles southwest of Benkelman. Movement was southeast at
30 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
These storms will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
Cheyenne and northern Rawlins Counties in northwestern Kansas,
southwestern Red Willow, southeastern Dundy and Hitchcock Counties in
southwestern Nebraska, including the following locations… Max,
Blakeman, and Beardsley.
