* WHERE…A portion of northeast North Carolina, including the
following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates,
Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western
Currituck.
* WHEN…Until 6 AM EDT early this morning.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Showers and thunderstorms are ongoing across the Watch area
early this morning, and will taper off over the next few
hours. Numerous reports of flooding and flash flooding have
been received, with rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, along
with some locally higher totals along the Currituck Sound.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are possible
overnight, further exacerbating existing flood issues.
