and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 149 PM AKDT, high water from rapid snowmelt over the past
five days has caused rising water levels along the Kuparuk
River, resulting in minor flooding near the river’s mouth.
– Floodwaters have been reported flowing over low-lying
crossings on Spine Road, which remains closed to all traffic.
– River levels are expected to crest within the next 24 to 48
hours, followed by a gradual decline through the end of the
week. Continued impacts to infrastructure near the river’s
mouth are possible as elevated water levels persist.
– Personnel in the area are urged to use caution and avoid
flooded roadways.
