Special Weather Statement issued June 17 at 11:03PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY

At 1102 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Wheelwright, or 13 miles east of Hindman, moving
northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Pikeville, Hindman, Estill, Coal Run Village, Elkhorn City,
Wheelwright, Martin, Pippa Passes, Forest Hills, Wayland, Warfield,
Allen, Meta, Jamboree, Pilgrim, Handshoe, Glo, Garden Village,
McDowell, and Piso.
