Flood Warning issued June 19 at 8:24AM CDT until June 20 at 7:28AM CDT by NWS Norman OK

…The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Oklahoma…

Chikaskia River near Blackwell affecting Kay and Grant Counties.

* WHAT…Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Chikaskia River near Blackwell.

* WHEN…Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS…At 34.0 feet, Floodwaters cover much of the northeast
portions of Blackwell. Residences and businesses suffer
significant damages. Street flooding reaches very dangerous depths
and speeds. Highway 177 north of Blackwell is closed. Blackwell
Avenue east and Hubbard Road southeast of Blackwell are
impassable. Rural lands are covered by floodwaters ranging up to 6
feet in depth in extreme northeastern Grant and Kay counties.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 34.2 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet.
– Forecast…The Chikaskia River is expected to fall below
flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue falling.
– Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
34.3 feet on 10/03/1986.
