Beach Hazards Statement issued June 20 at 2:50PM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Caribou ME

* WHAT….The warm temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s may
cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water
temperatures which are currently in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

* WHERE…Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.

* WHEN…From Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS…The cold water temperatures can quickly cause
hypothermia to anyone in the water. Anyone on boat or
paddlecraft should use extreme caution.
