Flood Watch issued June 23 at 1:44PM MDT until June 26 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE…A portion of south central New Mexico, including Ruidoso
and the burn scars surrounding the village.

* WHEN…Through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings and village streets may be flooded. Storm drains and
ditches may become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall may result in catastrophic
and life-threatening flash flooding as a rich monsoon plume
shifts over the area. Rainfall rates may reach 3 inches per
hour at times. Though chances for flooding and heavy rainfall
are generally higher in the afternoon, precipitation will
occur on and off, day and night. Areas within and downstream
of the Blue 2, McBride, South Fork and Salt burn scars will
be especially susceptible to flooding and debris flows.
