The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Howard County in central Nebraska…
West Central Merrick County in central Nebraska…
Central Hall County in south central Nebraska…

* Until 430 AM CDT.

* At 1110 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
ongoing heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1 and 4 inches of
rain have already fallen across much of the Advisory area
Wednesday, with another 1 to 3 inches possible overnight into
early Thursday morning. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly. Extensive street flooding has already been reported
in Grand Island with a few underpasses closed.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that could experience flash flooding include…
Grand Island, Wood River, Alda and St. Libory.

This includes the following streams and drainages…
Beaver Creek, Moores Creek, Silver Creek and Prairie Creek.
