Beach Hazards Statement issued June 26 at 4:15PM EDT until June 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Caribou ME

* WHAT….The mild temperatures in the lower to mid 70s may cause
people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water
temperatures which are currently in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

* WHERE…Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.

* WHEN…From Friday morning through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS…The cold water temperatures can quickly cause
hypothermia to anyone in the water. Anyone on a boat or
paddlecraft should use extreme caution.
