Rip Current Statement issued June 26 at 4:12PM EDT until June 27 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Upton NY

* WHAT…For the Coastal Flood Statement, up to one foot of
inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas
near the waterfront and shoreline. For the High Rip Current
Risk, dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE…Southeast Suffolk County.

* WHEN…For the Coastal Flood Statement, from 8 PM this evening
to 4 AM EDT Friday. For the High Rip Current Risk, from Friday
morning through Friday evening.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS…Brief minor flooding of the more
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.

* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS…Life-threatening rip currents are likely
for all people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the
beaches should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep
even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
