* WHEN…Until noon AKDT Monday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1005 AM AKDT, Last week’s warm temperatures combined with
bank erosion have led to high water breaking through the
banks of the Matanuska River between the Old Glenn Highway
and the River in the Maud Road area. Water levels are
expected to remain steady following diurnal trends in snow
and glacial melt upriver. Cooler temperatures this weekend
should allow for less snow and glacial melt compared to
previous days. However, periods of rain are expected Saturday
evening through Monday morning, with 0.20″ to 0.40″ of rain
possible around the Palmer and Butte areas through Monday
morning.
– For Matanuska River at Palmer:
At 9:30am the stage was 23000.0 cfs.
