* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of south central Georgia, including the
following counties, Tift and Worth.

* WHEN…Until 1045 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 838 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Tifton, Omega, Ty Ty, Phillipsburg, Unionville, Sumner,
Hillsdale, Tift Airport, Fender, Vanceville and Powelltown.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island... Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA... At 146 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located near Saint Inigoes Creek, moving east at 10 knots.
