The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Fayette County in south central Illinois…

* Until 1215 AM CDT.

* At 915 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Vandalia, St. Elmo, Ramsey, Brownstown, Shobonier, Wrights Corner,
Avena, Pittsburg, Shafter, Bingham, Hagerstown, Bayle City, St.
James and Loogootee.

This includes the following State Parks…
Ramsey Lake State Park.

This includes Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 61 and 76.
