Special Weather Statement issued July 1 at 8:28PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

At 828 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles southeast of Clarkesville, or near Mount Airy, moving northeast
at 15 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Toccoa, Clarkesville, Cornelia, Gumlog, Demorest, Mount Airy, Martin,
Avalon, Lavonia, and Baldwin.
