Special Weather Statement issued July 2 at 8:19PM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT

At 816 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lothair, or 18 miles southwest of Chester, moving northeast at 35
mph. Additional thunderstorms extended north to the Canadian border.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph are likely from these storms with
brief moderate rainfall and small hail possible with the strongest
cell to track east along the Hi-line including Lothair and Chester.

HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Chester, Joplin, Inverness, Lothair, Hingham, Rudyard, Whitlash,
Tiber Dam, Devon, and Galata.
