Values this cold can result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. In addition, frostbite can occur quickly if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

Dense fog can also deposit a thin layer of ice, commonly called Black Ice, on road surfaces and sidewalks, making them extremely slick.
