Special Weather Statement issued March 21 at 10:15AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN

Dry conditions and breezy winds will lead to near critical fire weather conditions from around 2 PM to 7 PM today. Northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph are forecast for this afternoon and evening. Minimum relative humidity values of 23 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning. At 1014 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers along a line extending from 8 miles north of Fitzgerald to near Coolidge. Movement was east at 40 mph. An ambient station in Tifton recently gusted to 47 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. ESFBIS Ice continues to form and move through the Bismarck and Mandan stretch of the Missouri River. As of late Thursday afternoon, ice continued to move all the way down to the Hazelton boat ramp area.
