The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Thursday June 5, for elevated levels of fine particulates (PM2.5). Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. The alert is in effect for the following Michigan Counties, Southern Schoolcraft, Delta, Luce, Alger, and Northern Schoolcraft. It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory diseases such as asthma. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert for ozone and particle pollution until 11 PM EDT this evening. Ozone levels are expected to rise into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range today June 5th. In addition, particle pollution levels are expected to be moderate statewide due to wildfire smoke. An Air Quality Alert means that the fine particulate concentrations within the specified areas may approach or exceed unhealthy standards due to local wildfire smoke in the Myrtle Beach area.
