Air Quality Alert issued March 29 at 12:10AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality in Raleigh NC has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Fine Particulates for Haywood, Swain, Macon, McDowell, and Rutherford Counties, until midnight EDT tonight. An Air Quality Action Day means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. Flood Advisory issued March 17 at 12:10AM EDT until March 17 at 3:15AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Edgecombe, Halifax, Johnston, Nash and Wilson. * WHEN...Until 315 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1210 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some
