* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 5500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet and up to 3 feet along higher peaks. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Snow-covered roads, chain controls and travel delays are likely which will result in very difficult travel at times above 5500 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Brief lull in snow continues through this afternoon. Periods of moderate to heavy snow return this evening through early Wednesday morning. Snow levels 4000-5000 feet today

Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Tucker County. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1.5" per hour Friday morning into the afternoon hours.
