Special Weather Statement issued December 5 at 1:43AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Following the passage of a dry cold front later this morning, relative humidity will fall into the low 30s and even upper 20s in some locations across the North Carolina Piedmont and Foothills this afternoon. Winds will be gusty along and behind the front, so conditions will be conducive meteorologically for the quick formation and spread of fires. Fine fuel moisture is expected to dry out quickly during the late morning and early afternoon. Based upon coordination with local land managers and forestry officials, a Fire Danger Statement is in effect for NC Forest Service Districts 2 and 10. Consult
