Very warm air flowing over the colder waters of the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas and Lake Borgne has allowed patchy dense fog to develop, especially on the Mississippi River, and anywhere roadways are crossing these bodies of water. Traffic and web cameras indicate very low visibilities in these areas, as low as one quarter to one half mile in some locations. Mariners on the Mississippi River and travelers crossing water should be prepared for rapid changes in visibilities this morning and exercise caution until conditions improve.
