At 232 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Montpelier, moving northwest at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Bern, Ovid, Border Summit, Georgetown Summit, Diamond Creek Campground, Geneva, Liberty, Clear Creek Ranger Station, Pegram, Dingle, Smokey Canyon Mine, Geneva Summit, Bennington, Georgetown, Montpelier, and Paris.

Total snow accumulations between 5 and 15 inches. * WHERE...Southern Mountains, primarily elevations above 9000ft. * WHEN...From 6 AM Sunday to 6 AM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult along SR-12 for elevations above 9,000ft during the overnight hours as temperatures become cold enough for accumulating snowfall. Significant impacts to travel are not anticipated during the daylight hours. Any outdoor recreationalists should expect periods of moderate to heavy snowfall in the high elevations (above 9,000ft MSL) on Sunday and Monday afternoon.
