Breezy north winds of 10 to 20 mph especially this morning, relative humidities falling into the 15 to 25 percent this afternoon and dry ambient fuels will lead to an increased fire danger for portions of Eastern North Carolina. Multiple wildfires were reported Saturday by the North Carolina and US Forest Service. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.
