Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Cascade mountains and valleys of Snohomish and King Counties, including Darrington, Index, Skykomish, Stevens Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass. * WHEN...Until 6 AM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Convergence zone showers tonight may locally enhance snowfall amounts and cause heavy snow at times through the central Cascade Passes.

Special Weather Statement issued January 10 at 3:08PM CST by NWS Memphis TN

Melting snow and ice runoff is expected to refreeze over roadways tonight as lows drop into the 20s area wide. Back roads, neighborhoods, bridges, off-ramps, and overpasses are most susceptible to freezing and black ice. Areas of ice will be hard to identify at night and under snow and slush. If travel is necessary, use extreme caution.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heavier snow amounts are more likely to occur west of York.
