Scattered snow showers are expected to move across portions of central Illinois this afternoon, with a 30 to 50 percent chance of accumulating snow at any given location. Some of these will contain visibility less than half a mile, and will be accompanied by wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph which will produce localized hazardous travel. A quick inch of accumulation is possible with the heavier showers.
