Strong northwest winds with gusts to 45 mph continue across western and central North Dakota early this Saturday morning behind an Arctic cold front. A strong storm system will rapidly intensify as it moves from the North Pacific into the eastern Bering today. As it does, winds will quickly increase across the Eastern Aleutians with east- southeast wind gusts of up to 65 mph expected for Akun and Dutch Harbor / Unalaska. Strong easterly winds will continue through late this morning before diminishing for a brief period of time early this afternoon as the low moves over the Unimak Pass area.
