Special Weather Statement issued December 11 at 3:55AM EST by NWS Jackson KY

lingering rain will transition to snow just before and after sunrise this morning. This snow will then fall at a light to moderate rate for an hour or so before tapering off by mid morning. Most locations should receive one half inch or less of accumulation. These snow accumulations will be limited by the relatively warm air and road temperatures out ahead of this system. Accordingly, accumulations should be confined to grassy and elevated surfaces with visibility reduction being the primary impact on travel. Later today, towards sunset and into the evening, scattered snow showers of varying intensity will occur.
