Anyone visiting the beaches should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There may be a high risk again on Saturday, especially eastern Long Island.

Snowfall will move across the Dalton Highway Corridor from Atigun Pass to Sagwon through the day today and Tuesday. Snowfall will come in rounds, with the heaviest snowfall likely this evening through tonight. Anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snowfall is possible, with 6 to 10 inches possible for Atigun Pass. Roads may become slick and travelers should expect potential travel delays.

The combination of low relative humidity values, warm temperatures, southerly winds, and dry fuels will result in elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon across southeastern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin along and north of I-90. Afternoon relative humidity values will fall to around 20 percent with winds out of the south of 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Under these conditions, fires will start and spread easily. Please exercise caution with any activities that involve outdoor fires or create sparks, including campfires, grilling, and operating large equipment. Temperatures warming into the upper 60s this afternoon will cause minimum RHs to fall into the upper teens. Winds will be easterly and around 5 to 10 mph this morning, but will become more southeasterly by this evening with speeds decreasing to under 5 mph. Any areas with dry grasses or vegetation will be susceptible. Check with the WI DNR or your local county before attempting any outdoor burning.

Gusty southwesterly winds are expected today. Frequent gusts up to around 40 MPH are expected this afternoon, with locally higher gusts possible. These gusts will cause unsecured outdoor objects to be moved around, as well as make driving conditions difficult, particularly for high profile vehicles. Additionally, tree limbs may be downed, causing localized power outages.
