* WHAT...Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka, Prince of Wales Island, Ketchikan Gateway Borough and Annette Island. * WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...High winds will blow around unsecured objects and may damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong low will track north toward the panhandle and into the gulf Wednesday morning. The strongest winds are expected to occur Wednesday morning for central and southern coastal areas. High wind gusts up to 60 mph will continue through Wednesday afternoon.

Areas of fog, some locally dense, has been reported for areas along the Highway 34 corridor, from Fairfield, Iowa east towards Galesburg, Illinois. Visibilities down to a half mile or less is possible this morning, which could lead to hazardous driving conditions. Visibilities should improve around 9 AM this morning. Motorists should remain alert for quick changes in visibilities. Use low-beam headlights and allow extra stopping distance.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Northern Oneida County. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes, as well as the Friday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While the heaviest snow will likely remain north of the region across the Tug Hill, accumulating lake effect snow is expected to reach northern Oneida County at times, with breaks in between. Most of the accumulating snow will likely occur tonight into Friday morning.
