The combination of dry fuels, S-SW winds of 10 to 15 mph gusting to around 25 to 30 mph Saturday afternoon, and relative humidity values dropping to 30 to 35 percent will result in an increased fire danger threat for areas east of the Blue Ridge, and North Carolina where a burn ban is currently in effect. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly grow out of control under these conditions.
