Special Weather Statement issued March 19 at 5:02AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC

Low afternoon relative humidity values between 15 and 25 percent, combined with south southwesterly winds that will increase to between 15 and 25 mph in occasional gusts this afternoon, will yield increased fire danger across the southern and western Piedmont and western Sandhills of North Carolina. Outdoor burning should be postponed if possible. If you must burn, use extreme caution since fires can grow quickly and become dangerous in these conditions. Ensure that fire suppression equipment is readily available. Properly extinguish and dispose of any smoking materials.
