Special Weather Statement issued December 23 at 5:35AM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK

Snow, heavy at times, is expected to develop from the Lower Yukon Valley to the Western Interior Monday through Thursday. The heaviest amounts are expected to be in the Nulato Hills and north of Galena. Snowfall totals over the 3 day stretch will approach 8 to 10 inches in the Middle Yukon Valley and 4 to 8 inches in the Lower Yukon Valley. Expect brief periods of blowing snow and reduced visibility. Periods of heavy snow will result in difficult travel conditions.
