Northeast winds will increase Tuesday afternoon and continue through Friday with wind gusts up to 40-55 mph. Blowing snow is likely but there is uncertainty with how intense it is since there was only a brief period of significant blowing snow with stronger winds a couple of days ago. We will continue to monitor as necessary and if we notice anything that deems impactful, the proper warning or advisory will be issued. For now, it doesn't seem too impactful. At 537 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of an area of snow showers along a line extending from 12 miles east of Erwin Tennessee to near Mount Guyot, and moving southeast at 20 to 25 mph, taking them across the mountains of Western North Carolina. Locations to be impacted include... Asheville, West Asheville, Sylva, Spruce Pine, Waynesville, Burnsville, Marshall, Newland, and Beech Mountain.
