A strong area of high pressure building over the Arctic will bring high winds and blowing snow to high terrain in the Interior Wednesday afternoon through Friday. Winds will be particularly strong over Dalton Highway Summits where gusts to 50 mph are possible. Blowing and drifting snow along with low visibility are expected over Dalton, Elliott, and Steese Highway Summits and will make travel difficult.

ESFSEW An atmospheric river will bring significant rainfall to the Olympic Mountains today into Thursday. Widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected, with locally over 6 inches on the the highest peaks. Snow levels will increase from around 3,500 feet up to as high as 4,500 feet tonight before lowering once again Thursday. While precipitation will be much less with the systems beginning Friday the lack of much of a break will keep rivers over the Southwest Interior rising into the weekend. It is possible the lower reaches of the Chehalis could flood late Friday into Saturday.

Multiple storms will move into the Gulf over the weekend, sending a series of fronts into the coast. Periods of light rain and freezing rain are expected Saturday through Monday, with the most likely time for precipitation being Saturday night into Sunday morning. Currently the most likely areas to receive rain or freezing rain are: near sea level locations in Anchorage, particularly east Anchorage, the Western Kenai Peninsula east of Soldotna, and the Mat Valley near Palmer. Of the above areas, the Mat Valley is the least likely to get precipitation, but any falling will likely be in the form
