The combination of relative humidity dropping to 30 to 40 percent and south winds gusting up to 20 mph at times could contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread on Tuesday, mainly in the afternoon and away from the coast east of New Haven. This forecast takes into account weather, fuel, and land conditions, and was developed in coordination with Connecticut fire and land management officials and neighboring National Weather Service forecast offices.
