The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage.

* WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. * WHERE...Del Norte County, and Humboldt County. * WHEN...From 11 AM to 6 PM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Easterly winds up to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph will cause areas of blowing snow resulting in visibilities of 1/2 mile or less. * WHERE...Central Beaufort Sea Coast. * WHEN...Until 7 AM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility at times. Patches of dense fog may also significantly reduce visibility at times. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
