Chattahoochee River at 14th Street at Columbus affecting Russell, Muscogee, Lee and Chattahoochee Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chattahoochee River at 14th Street at Columbus. * WHEN...Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 28 feet, Minor flooding continues along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the 14th Street bridge. Portions of the River Walk in Columbus will be flooded around one foot deep and closed to the public. The Phenix City Amphitheater on the Alabama side will begin to flood. *

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 35 below expected. * WHERE...Central and much of northwest North Dakota along with the James River Valley. * WHEN...Until noon CST Saturday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Etowah River Downstream I-575 at Canton affecting Cherokee County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Etowah River Downstream I-575 at Canton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Significant flooding continues generally east of Canton near the Interstate 575 bridge. The flood waters will top a sewer cover behind a pump station off of Riverstone Parkway and affect the foundations of some businesses on Old Ball Ground Highway and Keith Drive. Flood waters will be up to 3 feet deep around the wooden structure supporting the USGS gage house

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will produce areas of blowing snow. * WHERE...Oswego County. * WHEN...From 7 AM Friday to 10 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds will down tree branches and cause isolated power outages.
