Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. * WHERE...South of Toolik Lake including Atigun and Anaktuvuk Passes. * WHEN...Until 7 AM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will be heavy at times today. The heaviest snow will likely be just south and east of Anaktuvuk Pass and towards Atigun Pass. Another round of snow looks to move into the area on Sunday and continue into Monday. Those snow amounts are not included in this product, but there may be several additional inches of snow.

A very cold upper level Arctic low will be dropping south Thursday through the weekend. This will bring a much colder airmass to the area with snow levels slowly dropping to around 2000 feet across the Interior by Sunday night. Abundant moisture from a low in the Gulf of Alaska will bring rain and snow showers, with accumulating snow likely near Coldfoot, along the Richardson Highway through the Alaska Range, and across summits of the Dalton Highway, Ray Mountains, and White Mountains. A gale force low will move into the western Gulf late Friday night into Saturday. A front extending from this low will bring high end gales and eleveated seas to the northern Gulf coast, with the strongest winds expected west of Icy Bay, arriving by early Saturday.
