A gale force low will move into the western Gulf late Friday night into Saturday. A front extending from this low will bring high end gales and eleveated seas to the northern Gulf coast, with the strongest winds expected west of Icy Bay, arriving by early Saturday. A barrier jet is expected to develop in the area of Cape Suckling by mid to late Saturday morning, bringing a brief period of low end storm force wind gusts up to 50 kt and seas building up to 15 to 20ft during this time. A very cold upper level Arctic low will be dropping south Thursday through the weekend. This will bring a much colder airmass to the area with snow levels slowly dropping to around 2000 feet across the Interior by Sunday night. Abundant moisture from a low in the Gulf of Alaska will bring rain and snow showers, with accumulating snow likely near Coldfoot and across summits of the Dalton Highway, Ray Mountains, and White Mountains. Snow accumulations will be light with up to 2 inches to the Central Beaufort Sea Coastline and accumulations up to an inch at Sagwon.
