* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph. * WHERE...Bering Strait Coast and St Lawrence Island. * WHEN...Until noon AKST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant blowing and drifting snow as well as whiteout conditions are expected or already occurring. St. Lawrence Island conditions will deteriorate this evening/overnight as falling snow commences.

* WHAT...Blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. East to northeast winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Visibility as low as one half mile at times. * WHERE...Pribilof Islands. * WHEN...Through 6 AM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A front moving across the Pribilof Islands today will promote gusty winds and blowing snow through Wednesday morning. The greatest threat for blowing snow will exist to the south of Saint Paul and across Saint George.

Special Weather Statement issued March 4 at 2:58PM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

A developing area of low pressure travels up the Kuskokwim Delta coastline tonight through Wednesday afternoon. Snowfall and wind gusts up to 30 mph may result in periods of blowing snow and reduced visibility to less than one mile. Snow totals will range from 2 to 4 inches. Winds turn southerly Wednesday afternoon, allowing for conditions to slowly improve.

The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. *ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Whiteout conditions are likely on Wednesday as strong winds interact with falling snow which may be heavy at times.

Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Southern Seward Peninsula Coast and Interior Seward Peninsula. * WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. *ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Most blowing snow will occur north and east of Nome, near Johnson's Camp, White Mountain and Golovin.

Northeast winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills. * WHEN...Until 3 PM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Greatest concern for blowing snow will be from Elim to Shaktoolik and near Stebbins/St. Michael. Unalakleet should be spared by most of the blowing snow.
