A frontal system moving into Prince William Sound early Monday morning will result in an increase in south to southwesterly winds and colder air moving up Cook Inlet on Monday. Sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to 60 mph are possible from Homer north to Nikiski early Monday morning through late Monday night. Wave heights will also build across Kachemak Bay through the day Monday, leading to rough surf around Homer Spit. People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of power outages.

Widespread snow showers will move into the Pribilof Islands as a compact low moves into the area between Monday and Monday night. Widespread snow showers will move into the area as the low approaches. Snow combined with winds gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph could cause intermittent periods of significantly reduced visibility and blowing snow. Conditions will improve late Monday night into Tuesday morning as winds subside and as snow showers become more isolated.
